My Lullaby.
Farewell to the demons,
Say goodbye to their sight.
I’m back in your arms,
Which lead me to light.
Into the world, free from darkness, despairing.
Back into the sun, and your eyes I feel staring.
I feel the ice thaw clean from my bones,
Only with your touch, as your arms are my home.
Falling into you, the same way I did…
You whisper you love me; your arms are my crib.
Lying down under the stars, like every sleeveless eve,
Last summers’ repeat, I have nothing to grieve.
Warm and relieved, by your soft lullaby.
The song you wrote for me murmured under a blue sky.
Fading to orange, then black as death,
My eyes shut to the sound of your breath.
‘I stare at the stars; I stare at the moon…
And I wonder if somewhere, you are too?
And you’re thinking of me?
Because I’m thinking of you…
And your beautiful, wonderful,
pretty little smile….’ -A.W.G.
