Sleep
It's two a.m.
I am wide awake
Thinking of you
How much more can I take
Clock is ticking
Saying your name
Sleep just won't come
No longer a game
Illusions are real
At least in my mind
They play a sad song
That always rewinds
Turn over in fear
Pillow on my head
Doesn't help the shadows
Alive in my bed
Laughing and crying
All at the same time
Whispers are calling
You, I will never find
Thump in the dark
Scared of the night
Only my beating heart
Quivers with fright
Nightmare of love
Pain of the lost
I slip silently away
Sanity is the cost
Then morning rushes in
I stare into the light
Knowing I somehow survived
Another sleepless night
I am wide awake
Thinking of you
How much more can I take
Clock is ticking
Saying your name
Sleep just won't come
No longer a game
Illusions are real
At least in my mind
They play a sad song
That always rewinds
Turn over in fear
Pillow on my head
Doesn't help the shadows
Alive in my bed
Laughing and crying
All at the same time
Whispers are calling
You, I will never find
Thump in the dark
Scared of the night
Only my beating heart
Quivers with fright
Nightmare of love
Pain of the lost
I slip silently away
Sanity is the cost
Then morning rushes in
I stare into the light
Knowing I somehow survived
Another sleepless night
