Protest or March ?!
I wonder if their sons & daughters would ever march...
Salute a nation that some say may have failed them.
Vulnerable to an inner battle when the borders of their forefathers arms tragically seized to protect them.
A land mind. A suicide bomber. A bullet.... PTSD
If they'd sit proudly reaching for a triangular folded flag
While gazing at a purple heart
Say goodbye to an empty casket
Holding dog tags and squeezing the shit out of their mother's their hands to keep her from falling apart
Fighting a war with tears
Breathing in the smell fresh turned soil risen 6 feet
"This land is my land this land is your land
From California to the New York islands."
He was so proud to wear that uniform.
I wonder
If theyd be the first to make it back home
yet mentally never leave the war they thought they left
If they'd go back to avenge their father's death?
Would they ever protest?
or march?
Into the deafening sounds of
"Aallah!", "Infidel!" bullet ricochet, and screams
"Pigs", "Murderers", sirens and bats hitting SQUAT shields & Marines
Hating a country they say has failed them
Home grown terrorist
Gazing at pipe bombs,
tearing at smoke bombs
Rioting in the streets
With no one sane to lead em'
Would they Fight for freedom
or fight for Dialo & Trayvon & Alton & Baton Rouge.
For fathers and mothers and officers who wore the wrong uniform at a bad time
In what use to be a good place
On what side would you march?
What side would you face ?
