it’s time to transform
time to be reborn
and spread my
wings again
unfolding them
for all to see
this is me
no longer
hiding in the
ruined remains
of what once was
in smoldering ashes
of a shattered life
broken dreams
and lost love
relics of
unavailable
parents, men
who mistreated

history
repeated
it’s time to
take pride in
thìs life that is
mine as well as

setting me free

This is me (Such power in its simplicity! You couldn't have ended this more perfectly!)

This is obviously a deeply personal piece, so I paid a lot of attention to the phrasing!
I'm so glad to hear you love this one, that means a lot to me!
The ending... it needed a strong and simple ending and 'this is me' is in the poem two times and that is inspired by the song (my work is highly influenced by music)
