WATER
(a sonnet)
We wake to wade in teaming tidal streams
To deeply dive and taste their salt surprise
And watch as gush through furrowed channel gleams
A flow so warm that graces our new rise
It’s with our hands that we begin our play
Your playful splash that wets my hair and head
We splash as one to consecrate the day
When comes my turn to wet your hair instead
To join with you in our tide's letting go
We let it go and come as time allows
With drench of waves in our tide's deepest flow
That we be joined in flowings’ deepest vow
We lie in new born sun, in our pool's wet
To love the day begun where our tides met
