Financial Prison

I've become a slave to my mounting debt

Always living check to check to check

Almost constantly retracing my steps

Trying to figure out how I got into this mess

Is this how life is meant to be

Sometimes that is what it seems

Folks going into debt pursuing their dreams

Still in debt even when they're deceased

Consumerism has us all in a financial prison

While the government encourages more spending

They'll send you a check and call it a stimulus

I want to leave a nest egg for my kids if nothing else

Recently started reading "Rich Dad, Poor Dad"

Acquiring knowledge that I didn't previously have

Wasn't taught financial literacy as a young lad

Need to enlighten my children so for them it won't be as bad
