Is that a storm in the distance or is that just me?
The birds chirping are muted by the vrooms
This usual morning
Neighbors too far away to say howdy
I don't even know their names
As they hop in their four-wheeled bubble
Off to some idea of satisfaction and contentment
A socially responsible thing to do
And I watch
From my dusty barn
Taking the last few puffs of my cigarette
Before doing my own thing
Not caring about the lives of these small towners
While my thoughts drown the audible ambiance
About my place here
This town, this stage of my life
Whether this is my destiny or just another transition
Which would I be happier with?
The skies are gray today
The wind is slightly louder than usual
A hurricane on the coast has me staring at the sky often
Is that a reflection of me on the horizon?
I cant tell with the sudden calm of my girlfriend
I almost like it.
Maybe the eye of our storm.
