no-one buys
poetry books--
you can't give them away
But there's always one more
jackass kid
with a web connection
dreaming she's the next
Sylvia Plath
drooling on the finer points of Poe
until one day she gets knocked up,
grows up
and stops wearing black
You don't see too many
pregnant goths--
dark and pregnant
is a difficult write
when the real world
starts to kick

the rhythm your poems have. they just...speak. it's wonderful.
i like this one, in an ironic way, because i was just thinking about how people don't really buy books anymore, let alone poetry books, everything is electronic; and bookstores are going out of business; so sad.
