Someone admires you
from a cold distance
afraid to tell you
of how much you turn heads
like a beauty queen
afraid to show you
how much you uphold a standard
for the modern man's idea of beauty

Sometimes you could care less
on most unpretty days
and other times you care deeply

you care with dispassion
and scorn
about looks
and fashion
and those loser guys sneaking a peak
from time to time
but you uphold a standard
for the sake of admiration
not for their attention
but their time

Someone is afraid
to let you know
how beautiful you are

You're afraid
to let them know
you don't really care for looks
and you want Mr. Right
Right now
if only you could turn this off
and be less liked

it would all be simple
