The Witch In Repose
To Tanya
The sorceress simply needs a rest
Some time to heal, collect her thoughts
Her love and minions await her
The home fires burning bright and high
Her warlock maintains the magic
At least tries in her absence
He locates lost marbles and rolls the dice
Glances cast towards the grimoire
The clock approaching high midnight
And he wonders, "Will all be well?"
But he finds her cats surrounding him
Offering feline advice
Batting at his loose ends
Knowing how scatterbrained he is these days
He somehow manages, his apprenticeship preserved
But it's the witch who calls the spells
All powerful even confined to bed
Her effect is recalled both far and wide
Her talent dormant, never gone.
