Broken rainbow shards
Drowning in a endless dark hole,
The water choking every breath out of me,
My dead and ice nerves have given up,
All dreams and purpose have finally ran away,
Only asking myself," Why me?"
An outstretched arm trying to catch me,
Has he come to get my soul or my body?
Something wraps around my leg,
Slowly pulling me out of his reach,
I bid the world farewell,
As my consciousness walks away.
Opening my eyes I see the cloudless sky,
Whom brought me back from the pit of shadows?
Searching around I see my savior,
Standing by the edge looking at the setting horizon,
Why did he bring me back?
Next to me are seven broken shards,
Each reflecting a color of the rainbow,
Without turning to face me,
He says," The shards were in you clasped in your fist"
"Piece them back to see the real you."
He walks away with a bow of his head.

All dreams and purpose have finally ran away,
Only asking myself," Why me?"
