Lonely Night

I have chosen the path of the damned
And taken you along with
I can't remember how we got here
The way out must be a myth

I watch you from the bed
Wishing for a little smile
I just want to hold you
To get me through for awhile

You I will miss today
On this journey across the miles
Two states I will cross
Staring at only the dials

My dashboard and motel room
My only friends it seems
Along this lonely highway
Where no one hears my screams

I drive on into the darkness
Not knowing what's in store
The unknown swallows me whole
There is nothing here to explore

It's just empty wasteland
Out across the plains
A deserted ghost town
Is haunting all that remains
