Come fly with me
Oh my dearest one, what means this anguish,
That clouds in pain everything you say?
A dark shadow its baleful wings has spread
Over the fair beauty of your pure soul,
Driving out all the joy and happiness
That I thought we had found, so free from care,
Playing like children at the dawn of time.
We had something so pristine, far above
That granted by fickle fate to so few,
A love so deep it would last eternally.
Try as I may, still you seem to languish,
Lost in a bleak world, far from the blessed day.
From your sweet mind all contentment has fled,
And nothing I say or do can cajole
You from out the dark of the dismal hole
Into which you have sunk in your distress.
Fly with me once more into the sublime,
And there let us be one again, my love,
Where worldly sorrows cannot us pursue,
Once more to dance in perfect harmony.
