Like the rain
Like the rain you came down pouring,
Inexplicably, without prior notice
You printed your name onto the soil
And forced your way into my world
Like the rain you roared your demands,
Never thinking of hiding your emotions;
And cooed when you had calmed down
Giggling at your own wantonness
Like the rain you enveloped me
With your everything, your embrace
Your smile, your breath, your tears
And make me long for you more
Like the rain you leave me painfully
With traces of things I love about you
And the cold wind when you're not around
And your tears left on my barren ground
Inexplicably, without prior notice
You printed your name onto the soil
And forced your way into my world
Like the rain you roared your demands,
Never thinking of hiding your emotions;
And cooed when you had calmed down
Giggling at your own wantonness
Like the rain you enveloped me
With your everything, your embrace
Your smile, your breath, your tears
And make me long for you more
Like the rain you leave me painfully
With traces of things I love about you
And the cold wind when you're not around
And your tears left on my barren ground
