Cover up the scars by putting up plaster
Cover up the pain by saying it don't matter
Choke on your regret
Breathe in the toxic disappointment
Smother on the shady-looking ointment
Pretend you're not alone
When you're worked down to the bone
Cover up the suspicion by saying you ate
Don't let them know until it's too late
Lie to yourself and pretend that they care
Try to smile though it gets you nowhere
Act like you don't want to pull out your hair
Force yourself to function through the hate
All the while praying for a better fate
Try to be normal
