The trouble with people

 

The trouble with poor people is
they have no power;
the trouble with rich people is
they don't care;
the trouble with powerful people is
they don't care either

the trouble with caring people is
they care too much
they need to be more like rich people
and more like powerful people

the trouble with clever people is
they forget about the rich people
and about the powerful people
and about the poor people
who are neither powerful nor caring
nor clever

and if they were it wouldn't matter
because power trumps cleverness
and it trumps caring and they
will never have power
and the few who do get it
soon become rich people -
and they don't care.
