who has seen the wind
‘the leaves hang trembling’ Christina Rossetti
I must be an illegal drug. sex drug. love drug.
kinda drug that will give you the hurt you long for.
once you have loved me, you won’t stop loving me;
not completely. when I’ve been inside you, it was
not forced. you beckoned me there, and it was not
shameful. and having been inside you, I cannot be
utterly eradicated: some spark of me will remain.
but it won’t be devastating. it will hurt you just a little.
when a knight takes off his armor, he’s nothing more
than a naked man. and a woman cares not for a man’s
naked body; she wants his heart. naked.
don’t look at my heart, baby. it’s covered in rags.
don’t ask me if love is ever a true thing.
don’t ask me if I have seen the wind…
