Homesick Dream
Softly, softly
I can't remember
How my childhood house used to be
Softer, softer,
Let's go see the fireworks
Let's go hand in hand, brother
Explain what it's like
To love someone
Who's not sure if they can love back
I know, and I'm powerless
How shameful
But I can't be loved any less
I want to clean my room
But it's overgrown with memories
Too heavy to move
Too crowded to breathe
A forest, a forest
Where you live
Shrouded in firs and regrets
The hurt you wouldn't hear
Makes me seasick
My head spins as long as I'm here
My brain is claustrophobic
Out of my skull, it wants to get out
The cure is caustic
A clean slate, a clean shout
Music too loud
And a light beam
I saw it all in a dream
Softer, softly
I can't remember
How my child soul used to be
I can't remember
How my childhood house used to be
Softer, softer,
Let's go see the fireworks
Let's go hand in hand, brother
Explain what it's like
To love someone
Who's not sure if they can love back
I know, and I'm powerless
How shameful
But I can't be loved any less
I want to clean my room
But it's overgrown with memories
Too heavy to move
Too crowded to breathe
A forest, a forest
Where you live
Shrouded in firs and regrets
The hurt you wouldn't hear
Makes me seasick
My head spins as long as I'm here
My brain is claustrophobic
Out of my skull, it wants to get out
The cure is caustic
A clean slate, a clean shout
Music too loud
And a light beam
I saw it all in a dream
Softer, softly
I can't remember
How my child soul used to be
