- - - HER ROSE, MY THORN - - -
I... I remember the calm before the storm
Beneath the canopy of doom
Lightning strikes and thunder booms
Fading her away, leaving me broken and torn
Her scents remain
Like a ghost in pseudo-parades
I turn in my grave
In fevers I doth prayed
By mourning light
And raven flight
I tore and swore
At the clasp of endless night
Her... Her picture remains just beyond my reach
Locked with iron bands dead with rust
The chains they shake ‘neath my touch
I pound against the maiden like a wretched beast
As madness tore
My synapse as the devil’s scorn
May I never mourn
‘til after raging storms?
Still face the dread
Of whence I wed
I wash the blood
From these hands stained by the dead
And when the clock strikes on thine
Curse rehearsed in contempt and verse
Dead eyes, they share in time they stare
At storms forlorn, her rose and my thorn
I hold, dearly, to my black heart
Her rose and my thorn
She was gone in turn but still I burn
Her rose and my thorn
Time... Time seems so cruel when seasons become cold
Love was the sentence for my crime
Unconditionally mine
The soul within this husk, beating against the mold
Burial stone
Rattled and quaked atop my bones
Once thought far too gone
Rise at the siren song
Where is your god?
Awash in blood
Drained from the pure
Give me life beneath the mud
Grave... Grave be my desires cast upon flesh
Just to find a glimpse of her life
In death on the edge of a knife
The touch of her breath under my lovely caress
And when the clock strikes on thine
Curse rehearsed in contempt and verse
Dead eyes, they share in time they stare
At storms forlorn, her rose and my thorn
I hold, dearly, to my black heart
Her rose and my thorn
She was gone in turn but still I burn
Her rose and my thorn
I... I remember the calm before the storm
Beneath the canopy of doom
Lightning strikes and thunder booms
Fading her away, leaving me broken and torn
“Look to the heavens
My dearest
And see the stars shine
One last time”
