Greed Be Us
We are all greedy bastards,
Every single one.
In your mansion,
False eyelashes,
Plastic parts to make you feel
Whole.
Religious fanatics,
Moral superiority a lie.
God to make it all seem right.
And I,
Trying to survive-
Deceiving even myself.
The devil we run from,
Ourselves.
If we had a heart at all,
We couldn't be content to live
Children hunger, people suffer.
We give 10 percent,
Pat ourselves on the back,
Sleep tight.
Every single one.
In your mansion,
False eyelashes,
Plastic parts to make you feel
Whole.
Religious fanatics,
Moral superiority a lie.
God to make it all seem right.
And I,
Trying to survive-
Deceiving even myself.
The devil we run from,
Ourselves.
If we had a heart at all,
We couldn't be content to live
Children hunger, people suffer.
We give 10 percent,
Pat ourselves on the back,
Sleep tight.
