A Walk that Leads through Nowhere
Into the woods that wind
I seek to find
The way, the way,
That we, that me,
That I, once knew
And you, and you
Who took me down
Along the streams
And broken boughs
And through
The poisoned Ivy
Leaves that left
Rash on my body
I sought to pluck the aloe plant
To heal, to feel,
To seal the fate
To spin the wheel
To stop the hate
The blame I shift
To you, to do
Not shame the same --
I stopped. The bridge
may drive a wedge
Between the two.
I cannot cross,
The loss too great --
I sit alone and simply wait.
I seek to find
The way, the way,
That we, that me,
That I, once knew
And you, and you
Who took me down
Along the streams
And broken boughs
And through
The poisoned Ivy
Leaves that left
Rash on my body
I sought to pluck the aloe plant
To heal, to feel,
To seal the fate
To spin the wheel
To stop the hate
The blame I shift
To you, to do
Not shame the same --
I stopped. The bridge
may drive a wedge
Between the two.
I cannot cross,
The loss too great --
I sit alone and simply wait.
