Ice
I just
Don’t want you
Anymore.
I remember
When you would lie next to me
And just the scent
Of your skin
Would send a viscous
Burn through my body
Delicate but urgent,
A pungent need
For a body that wasn’t
There for me
That longed for nothing
And hurt for nobody,
Your cloudless, abandoned world
Dim with gray, seamless discontent.
I think
You relished
The looks of devastation
You reaped upon your women
Making sure they were
Punished
Being women….just for being women.
Green animosity….and black intent
I understand you were left behind,
That was years ago, love.
My need dries up
Withers from neglect
And when I want to be touched…
I find another
Who touches back…
Leaves me a tepid warmth
A moment
In an otherwise
Icy world.
Don’t want you
Anymore.
I remember
When you would lie next to me
And just the scent
Of your skin
Would send a viscous
Burn through my body
Delicate but urgent,
A pungent need
For a body that wasn’t
There for me
That longed for nothing
And hurt for nobody,
Your cloudless, abandoned world
Dim with gray, seamless discontent.
