Falling into silence
Am I falling a part?
I push, you push, a strike to the heart;
Am I falling apart?
I don't even know where to start;
Security, confidence, serenity;
they all feel so far from me;
And then I remember the beauty;
Sunrise, sunset, the blowing wind;
Giving me peace of mind;
Sometimes I think that I'm too kind;
Sometimes I think that I'm too cold;
Lack of worth, it's getting old;
Up and down and all around, souls getting bought and sold;
For so much less then what their worth;
The inequality would astound, or at least that's what I'm told;
Yet it happens everywhere on earth;
But Your heart is yours to keep;
Not a word to say not even a peep;
And the inaction continues as we each drift silently to sleep.
