How Could You

It seems in your old age you have started to forget your ways, the way you were with her and him; the things you did to the both of them. How could you have forgotten?

The nights she lay crying herself to sleep, lulled by moans of the dying meek. Markings of shame worn like badges of honor; battered, bruised, left naked and abandoned.

Have you forgotten how cold her body was? I will remember always it's touch, the icy embrace of love. You've never heard my words that fell soft upon your ears, they died with her.

Father, I can promise you this, I will never forget my final kiss. The last moment I held her in my arms, its all I have, the only memory on playback in my mind. It is her you loved yet, her love you forsake. I only want to ensure you remember that day, the day she went away.
