Pilgrim in the Desert
Don't cry, don't cry, my Lord.
I will surely hear you.
For the bible is your Word,
And your will to see me through.
Don't fear, Don't fear, my Lord.
For your children are in place.
And not but faith as our sword,
Until our saving Grace.
I'll not rest, I'll not rest, my Lord.
For your gospel soothes my soul.
And the Jordan I shall ford,
To reach your everlasting goal.
I will preach, I will preach, my Lord.
For the brotherhood of Man.
My cross of wood and not of gold,
I'll not perish in the sand.
See my feet, see my feet, my Lord.
No wrappings have they seen.
Upon them the Nile poured,
And the same I've never been.
Hear me sing, hear me sing, my Lord.
My songs of peace and love.
I'll seek to be worthy to pass your door,
Until I see the King above.
