Rendezvous
Pick the petal off the breeze
and drift into the sea.
When your wave washed over me
and let my spirit free.
Beyond a dream we meet once more
to speak our last goodbyes.
When losing all I've lost before
reflected in your eyes.
So steal the diamonds from the sky
and cast the night unseen.
Then disappear from you and I
to find the sad and green.
We bathe ourselves upon the sun
to burn away regret.
But when it's branded in my mind
I never can forget.
Into the dark we meet once more
to speak of my demise.
To melt inside our last embrace
and wipe away the guise.
So take the moments from my head
and freeze them for our view.
Until the day we meet instead
as never is untrue.
Pick the dying leaf still clinging
from the sacred tree.
When you left with all my being
death washed over me.
