Hearts

I won’t forget.
She’ll go to work tomorrow.
We’ll meet for dinner.
There will be traffic and rain
     Cold, hammering, head-lowering
     Warm, light, refreshing
And she will
     Run through it
     Plod through it
     Dance in it
She’ll watch TV
Beyonce on Netflix
Ride in taxis and drive
On the freeway
And go back to work.
But I won’t forget that
Her heart is broken.
