She Writes Herself All Around Me (to the memory of a beautiful scribe)
she writes all around me
“.....Summer Days and
moonlit nights
Through the waves
and hold me tight
Turn around and summer's almost gone.........”
all around us
memories of a life
in our “beautiful now”
all but gone
Was it truly that easy to simply move on, my love?
gentle showers begin to fall
“.....but all the memories
don't really mean a thing
Too many sad ones
and the good ones
were few and far between ?”
warm gulf breezes, and Summer rains against sable gray skies.....
whatever happened to the beautiful love
shared between you and I?
The aging sun begins to fade into the night
like the surrealistic memories of the summer love
we made........
........she writes herself
all around me
(…...did I ever exist at all?)
My hands remember the feel
of your skin
your soft sensuality
"though I never laid a hand on you"
giving to you
my love
my life
my time....
.....a fairy tale. Do dreams ever come true?
you tattooed yourself
upon my heart.....forever
singing the words, “You are my friend....”
now gone away like the fleeting days of summer
fading like the colors of her bold, brilliant ink
upon paper wet with my tears,
“holding back the years....”
…...and she simply writes herself all around me
