A fool on the beach

Walking across the heated sand
Accompanied by the ocean breeze
With the shells in my closed hand
And the coconuts up in the trees

I search the pile for beauty
For the universe to be in a shell
And for naught, these are not for me,
When I know all is not well

To be a fool and not from the heat!
Love is truly life's terrible cheat
Living the way the shore ebbs and flows
And a man being foolish when he knows

Love is the rain when you are in the sea
Rigorous yet gentle as it's known to be.
Pray the current leads you to heart
And not back to the wistful start.
