The joker

Curious little poem this, a tiny fable of a poem with a little bit of nonsense poetry thrown in for good measure.  The tone is just about right I guess, so that it doesn't fall on the wrong side of the nonsense line.  I think your scant use of rhyme contributes to that nonsense feel, it's almost like a limerick.

I'd change the title though personally.  I feel like the emphasis shouldn't be on "the Joker" because I can't help but think of Batman, but also it isn't really about the joker per se.

Maybe you should decapitalize "Joker" in the first line.  Not sure.  I'd be interested to see what others thought.

Overall, not too bad though.

Just as a follow-up, I'm not saying "don't rhyme", I'm just saying in the context of this poem it gave a slightly whimsical feel.  That's not necessarily a bad thing.  It all depends on what you're trying to achieve with your poem.  My take on it is that you want to convey a serious message but in a not-too serious way, I don't think there's anything wrong with that.
 
Just be careful that your poem doesn't turn into:
 
"There was a young man from Gotham
criminals from streets he took off 'em.
He embodied a bat,
dark and mysterious at that,
but black Kevlar pants; he could rock 'em."

Haha its all good, I've never been a fan of em' and words alike. Might make me sound like I'm scotish:P And this is a very rare kindof poem for me, I prefer to write longer pieces with less effort put into the rhyming of the piece. But however I quite like it personally, have never been one to follow rules with my writing and I guess its about time I get bought into line! Thanks Again!
