We were never really dating,
But we didn't pursue other people.
We were never in love,
But we looked into each others' eyes the way lovers do.
I never loved myself,
But you taught me how to do it.
You had insecurities,
But I showed you how perfect you were.
But after all this,
After sleepless thoughtful nights,
I came to realise,
I was never yours
