David, Oh David,
Beautiful are thou in the eyes of God;
One Man,
Sculpted differently in varying degrees
By three masters of cold hard stone

Donatello,
Early renaissance master,
A bronze hero, sculpted in nude of sight
Young and ever posing
Self aware of his own beauty,
The symbol of David’s purity and faith in God
To protect against the sword and spear
The armor of Goliath
The triumph of the boy king,
The foot upon his head

Michelangelo
Master painter, sculptor, drawer, artist
David, oh David
The marble of your creation
And high Renaissance of grace
The political move over Papal sovereignty
The thinking David,
Relaxed and full grown man,
Michelangelo’s enlightenment,
The thinking mans time,
Perfected Renaissance philosophy

I adore the idea behind this....tho I have Dan Brown to thank for actually knowing who an wot all 3 artists an statues are...
I kinda did want more from this...more of the author or maybe some sort of coming together of the 3 individual artists, but even so, I like this a lot 🙃

Nice work deadwolf. Had my instructors showed more passion, I might have payed better attention in art class.

Very nice, not certain if heard Rufus version of this... I have on CD Leonard Cohen singin this, also John Cales version... I was intrigued to do this one, I love art, immensely, an been thinkin about doin another of my art loves... how about you friend...
