Georgia Gene

Little green Georgia Gene
sipping on Long Island ice tea
in the summer shade
but she wants lemonade
Twenty seven, a little mean
dressed in pink and aquamarine
but she'll tell you she's color blind
cause Georgie gene tells little lies

Little blue Georgia writes to you
but puts the letter in her shoe
and she wonders why she feels haunted
She puts on a long white gown
steps into the water intent to drown
but she just floats, floats, floats
off just like a ghost
So long world, so long east coast

Little lost Georgia on waves tossed
until she hit land and came across
a place she'd never seen before
In that same long white dress she
walked the streets in her bare feet
she may not be queen or countess
she's alright with adventuress

Little green Georgia Gene
still sipping  Long Island ice tea
in the summer shade
but she wants lemonade.
