Ever
When the day has ended and the sun has set,
What will happen to all the people I've met,
To the world that I know, and to all that I love
When the sun finally ceases to rise above?
Will the scent of flowers fade into nothing
Birds once full of glee never to sing again?
What shall the curious end that comes bring
If not spring nor winter but the season's end?
To smell the fragrance of an unending youth
And to tread upon the keys of life's notes
What will they be after the unraveling of the truth?
Shall I merely become the dust that floats?
Will we ever be reunited with the life of living
To relive or create anew this dream we're dreaming?
What will happen to all the people I've met,
To the world that I know, and to all that I love
When the sun finally ceases to rise above?
Will the scent of flowers fade into nothing
Birds once full of glee never to sing again?
What shall the curious end that comes bring
If not spring nor winter but the season's end?
To smell the fragrance of an unending youth
And to tread upon the keys of life's notes
What will they be after the unraveling of the truth?
Shall I merely become the dust that floats?
Will we ever be reunited with the life of living
To relive or create anew this dream we're dreaming?
