my perspective of Ashtoreth (Aish's Goddess challenge)

She pierced the night in incandescence
Blazing white against indigo night
All that was fierce and beautiful in womanhood
Exploded through her veins
As she burned through the sapphire colored sky

Her womb sang the song of siren
Crashed the rocks of Christianity
When Solomon strayed from grace
"Ashtoreth" spat from lips; despised,
Tossed onto dirty temple floors
What started to swirl was dust primeval
Her singing was silenced to barely a suggestion
She was numbered among the demons
Patron saint of the seven sins
Left to lord over the lascivious
Her once productive womb
Produced fear in the mind of phallus
She became a threat to the power
To the envy of the penis

Now a dim glow in twilight wanes
Washed over in jet trails and streetlights
Mother-goddess hangs in fetal position
Her sexuality demonized; she is villified
Word stones flung through ages of desert sky
Pounded her into silence
All that is and was the power of the sex of woman
Degenerated into the shell of 'whore'
