baby girl ill be strong for you
To say things have been easy would be a lie
It's been months since they broke the news to me
Not sure how to react
I smiled at you although I know you can see the fear in my eyes
Your little arms wrapped me in a hug
If you ask no I'm not fine
The words
I dreaded to hear
Dropped like a bomb in the room everything else seemed to disappear
Surgery
They are due to schedule the date
I rock you each night
Sing you to sleep
As i lay you in bed
Walk back to the living room
Attempt to clean
I sit on the couch
Sob and weep
I dread this day
It scares me more then you could ever know
Baby girl ill be strong for you
You will never know
That behind the smile I hide these things
I'll grip you in my arms and wont let you go
The day you have surgery
When you awake ill be there too
Waiting by your bedside still gripping your tiny hand
I will smile
Baby girl I will be strong for you
It's been months since they broke the news to me
Not sure how to react
I smiled at you although I know you can see the fear in my eyes
Your little arms wrapped me in a hug
If you ask no I'm not fine
The words
I dreaded to hear
Dropped like a bomb in the room everything else seemed to disappear
Surgery

Baby girl ill be strong for you
You will never know
That behind the smile I hide these things
I'll grip you in my arms and wont let you go

Baby girl I will be strong for you
