The male dying for the female  -  could that be one of them?
it seems pretty universal to me.
Christ (the male) died for the Church I(the female).
The female that is supposed to draw in all humanity,
the (eventually) universal female, you could call it.

Sperm (the male cell) dies after it penetrates the egg (the female).
Which then lives on (as the zygote), enabled by the sacrificial death.
Now THAT is obviously universal, engulfing all animal life.
Universal but also practically eternal, for it goes back billions of years.

The theme of the male dying for the female is not limited to religion or reproduction.
It is evident thruout thousands of years of human history - during times of war.
For soldiers have traditionally been males, fighting for whom?
When foreign armies attack, the men enlist in the army to collectively repulse the invasion.
By defending the civilians, they are in effect defending women and the extension of them, their children.
It boils down to, yes, males dying for the sake of the females.
