AMORPHOUS (1) - (10-17-04; on waking in Eagle Lake, Texas)
as awareness
slowly arises
up from sleeps
still haven
in the secret
stirring
of each new
creeping
dawn
cocooned
in tingling
ringing air
of nights
soft silent
weightless
womb
some subtle
metamorphosis
occurs within
subconscious
being
in every
gentle release
back into
fresh peace
of first lights
conscious return
wherein this
state of stillness
awareness
begins to stir
up from
nocturnal
disappearance
back into
familiar identity
of its current
living form
during this mystic
transition
from dreamtime
back into
this physical world
where I become
aware
for a little while
each new morn
before I am
fully here
that I am
something else
holy
amorphous
and real
some lichen
clinging
intently firm
to stone
some delicate
moss or fern
newly sprouted
into being
from the decaying
trunk
of some old
fallen oak
gracefully unseen
patiently
existing
hidden in
the beautiful
density
of some remote
forest floor
as its life cycle
secretly
unfolds
or perhaps
i am some
ghostly mist
hanging
eerily adrift
suspended in
forest treetops
along some coastal
mountainside
or a single
drop of dew
slowly filling up
off the tip
of some green leaf
waiting in its
peaceful perfection
for the moment
it finally swells
slips and quietly
falls virgin
through the air
to sacred ground
below
only to be
transformed
into something
else again
the faintest breeze
perhaps
caressing the
contoured
earth
in its timeless
flow
no need
nor reason
for it to
even know
beyond
the truth
of its
flawless being
in all these
varied forms
i know
as i now return
even here
into my own
that i and we
and all these
things
are interconnected
within this
great adventure
though we
may often think
we journey
here alone
at some point
we hopefully
will learn
to somehow
more clearly
come to see
that we each
and all
both touch
and are touched
essentially
by everything
within
the sacred
singularity
of sublime
creations
