Selena [ 🌹 Tribute to Selena Quintanilla Perez ]

{ quick note}: since I was very busy yesterday I figured it was best to write a late tribute to her today. Selena, is one of my idols and is surely missed.
She was a talented, beautiful, kind person and will forever be remembered.

Her name was Selena,
A latina from Lake Jackson, Texas.
A strong willed Mexicana,
She would never give up on her dreams.
No matter what or who was trying to stop her.
Una mujer nacida para cantar desde el corazón.
She started singing as a child,
Being forced into it she eventually learned to love it for it became her true passion.
Una mujer que dios mismo ha creado,
Selena was a gift from above.
Un bello ángel que estaba destinado a ser un gran.
She went against all odds.
Following her own path as she would go on to show a woman can be just as successful as men,
Marrying Chris despite of what her father has said,
And taking on the struggles of being Mexican American and turning them into little nothing's.
Como una flor Tejano ella floreció en algo bello.
Her first hit was " Como La Flor",
But she was already loved even before it first hit the radio.
Having " Baila Esta Cumbia" stuck in your head for days as you couldn't help, but want to dance like her, look like her, be just like her.
Talentoso en todo como le gustaría mostrar a quienes han dudado de que ella sería la única reina de la música.
She was the genuine artist of the people,
Showing Mexicana pride in her music while at the same time singing about what she felt.
Tragedy struck one night as a bullet that should've never left its gun hit her right in her heart.
Filmado por un mentiroso y un ladrón,
She trusted Yolanda as she thought she had no reason to believe that she was only out for herself.
Su hermoso corazón fue dejado a dios para mantener segura con él en el cielo.
Her memory lives forever in the stars and in the glow of the full moon.
