Sonnet - 'Lotus'
Struggling through the darkness, breathing mud,
Helpless as depression suffocates,
Reduced to emptiness, mere flesh and blood,
Hopeless, near extinct, where hope abates.
Emerge from misery, my tired friend,
Things can't possibly stay at their worst,
Soon the rain will fall from sky above,
Let it give you strength and quench your thirst.
Reach, my friend, into the open air,
Fill your lungs, breathe the freshness deep,
Know the goodness that is waiting there,
Let it surround you, your spirit shall it keep.
Be not lost or frightened, anxious one;
Bask in peaceful warmth from loving sun.
