Peaceful nightmare
Last night
Well, I think last night is right
The point is, I had awoken from fright
Eyes open wide, outside was no light
I'd had a dream, a nightmare as I recall
Perhaps it was... it was confusing above all
I woke up real sudden, i felt my heart fall
There, on my phone, "you have a missed call"
Guess who it was from? You
I was so excited, I didn't know what to do
To me, that was reality, the world was a truth
Immediately following I got a text from you, "who"
That's all it said, i opened the chat
I thought what to say and started typing that
I remember typing, telling you flat:
I love you still, come back.
You responded, said I love you still too
Right then in the moment I didn't know what to do
you started typing, as if on cue
you said "I still think of you as you"
It made sense to me then, it was, after all, a dream
I wasn't yet aware of my scheme;
self betrayal, my emotions being mean
for I awoke with a gasp and exited my dream
I looked at my phone, the screen was blank
I knew what that meant, my heart sank
I rolled back on over, facing away
knowing full well, what I thought was real was now fake.
