It was only last month when we lost you
But it felt as if it was yesterday
I was heartbroken to hear that you passed away
Started to become afraid that things would never be the same
Started to become afraid that I might just go insane
Tears rolling down my face as I woke up screaming your name

Use to seeing you ride around in your wheelchair
Use to having your beautiful spirit warm up the air
Reminiscing when you use to sit on the porch enjoying the autumn breeze
The sweet smell of the potato pies you cooked made it hard to leave
Your encouraging words made it easier to dream
Your support made it easier to constantly achieve

You gave me the courage to believe in my own abilities
Now I'm left with all the precious moments and timeless memories

Lectures you gave me will never go in vain
Lately it's been difficult to deal with the pain
Sometimes eye wish you didn't have to go
Dealing with grief is such a less traveled road

You have ascended with the ancestors now
Well you are an ancestor now

You can now fly away
Your energy will never fade away
Eye have so much to say but
Now that you're gone i'll always love you
But I'm missing you like it was "Yesterday"
