Preservation

The forest’s heart is a many pointed
Star of solar plexus transmitting
Across a pulpy delta of ecosystem.
Entrenched veins communicate
Codes of survival and means
Of surrender to the sacred ghost
Of continuance that generations live
To become keepers of primordial secrets
Birthed from a 13.7 billion-year-old collision.

Another secret is that we share skeletal dirt,
And are privy to the Ancients if we but listen.
