Longest Ride Home
Praying to GOD to get me through this 40 minute drive.
Hoping this isn't my last ride.
The devil in my ear telling me to break the law.
The grim reaper in the back seat waiting for my eyes to fall.
The heat in my face is making my vision unclear
So I roll down my window & blast the music in my ear
The longer I drive, the more I get weak
Trying my best to keep from falling asleep.
Fighting my sleep trying not to lose
Pull over or keep driving; which one do I choose?!
Tight grip on the steering wheel trying to keep my concentration
Every time I blink my eyes, Im playing tag with Satan.
Doing whatever I can to keep my car on the road
Swerving through traffic, dodging the potholes.
If a cop stops me, he might think Im D.U.I.
When all I'm really doing is trying to get by.
Trying to get home safely & as fast as I can
Only to go to sleep, wake up & do it all over again.
