INDIGO

(a Jade-Pandora & Hepcat61 collaboration)

Interloper's intrigue--
A lone comet
Its fiery entrails
To pierce in foreplay
And swoon asunder

Cold brooding night
Is kept
Jealous and waiting
As lunar mistress
Takes herself a lover.

The moon--
Her milky luminescence
Warms him in spite of
The lack of heat
From an indigo soul.

Fickle and wanton
To consort earth
Revealing her impish
Hills and canyons
Night would possess

Once with her late
Rising night saw
His covering earth
His indigo essence
On earth’s hard rock

Knowing as she came
Night had moon
All and every,
Nook and cranny
Earth only a part

Night took them both
Moon and earth
Her pale indulgence
In both their hands
Earth’s liquid response

Night’s unresisted work
Brings moon cold heat
Wears earth to sleep
Reclining in his stars
Night knows release
