SLOW MOTION INSANITY
It looks so much better at night-
When snow falls
slow motion.
It feels better when people hide their eyes away today.
I shield the light
I bend the beams
poverty may mute my scream
but I sing so much better in the dark.
I offer truth
I open veins
Abnormality maintains
that I look so much better in the dark.

Jasper.....the implications in this piece are truly exemplary--metaphorically, as well as realistically.
So frequently, we tend to 'view', and 'define' ourselves based upon how a handful of 'shallow', selfish individuals--those that we erroneously perceive as caring and important--'view' (judge)us. As we gaze into the glass, we simply cannot see past our external, and internal flaws...our 'imperfections'.
......And ever so gradually, we begin to seek the 'darkness'--symbolicially, and actually......to shield....to shelter....and to soothe us from the harshness of reality....each time the journey taking us deeper, and deeper away from the light...(.until the insidious comfort carries us--unknowingly--to that place of no return....
( Mo Chara chotha`imid.....i realize that you will understand, when i say that this piece resonates sooo deeply for me.....slicing into my soul. We ARE soooo much more than our 'scars'--both inside, and out!! You helped me to realize this! Please know, that i understand the comfort of darkness----for however long one seemingly 'needs' it. However, i will ALWAYS be that spark that can never be extinguished....when the choice to come back is yours.......) xo
