Breathing in deep places

 expanding visions in constricted places
finding answers on tattooed walls
watching presence on living tapestries
woven by many hearts touched

falling for love offered on sleeves
tears of affirmation stroking egos
dusts in eyes mirrors the squiggles
of alarm, foreboding shut down

seeing names on placards
all of the beloved calling snow
cold on hearts beating hopeful
warmth suffusing the heart's wall

how easy that hour glass sand flow
as fluid as changes from someone
to no one, and soon forgotten
why is a word so overused

breathing is hard in deep places
drowning and grasping straws
yet that broke the camel's back
as silence leads to  indifference.
