Hollywood and Capitalism: Is It Wrong To Always Portray Businessmen as the Bad Guys
After the fall of the Roman Empire
there was a break down of law and order.
Roving bands of jobless men would prey upon travelers
There were no policemen to come to their aid.
So trade dried up, the economy collapsed.
Society survived only by becoming localized.
In each little individual community, some strongman took over.
All the locals agreed to work for him.
Thus feudalism and serfdom were born.
The ruling classes exploited the poor.
This was the situation during the Dark Ages.
But as the Industrial Revolution developed in the late 1700s
Serfs became factory workers, exploited by factory owners, of course.
Karl Marx came along and preached that workers need to revolt,
Replace Capitalism with Socialism, followed by Communism.
But in each nation where radical socalled "scientific" socialism
ie, Marxist socialism took over in terms of one-party dictatorship,
Workers were exploited even more than under capitalism.
LSS: Capitalists look pretty good when compared to Communists !!
So Marx was totally mistaken about Capitalism being Evil,right?
Wrong!! The only reason capitalists don't exploit workers
The way they used to is because they can't get away with it
(due to government intervention,etc and yes, unions, to some extent).
But you give the capitalists some workers who are literally subhuman,
And the businessmen will exploit their workers just like in 1750 !
(When factory workers had to show up 6 days a week,
Work like 12 hours a day for mere pennies - serfdom by another name.)
What am i talking about when I speak of "literally subhuman workers" of today?
Pigs are "workers" in that they do the work of producing meat.
Ditto for cattle that produce milk, and little egg-laying chickens in cages.
Because they are subhuman, and therefor easily exploitable,
Capitalists get to treat them the way they would like to treat all workers - if they could.
I mean they work them for no wages, no rights, no respect.
They put pigs in closed in areas where they can't even walk around,
No freedom of movement whatsoever !!
Ditto for cattle, for chickens, on and on.
The factory-ization of American farms exposes capitalists
(and the capitalist mentality) for what they really are,
monsters, monsters, monsters, monsters, monsters, monsters, monsters !!!!!!!
When Communist Russia (presently posing as post-communist) bombs America,
Now that we have disarmed in response to the Kremlin's phony Democratization claims,
It will be due, in part, to Marx and Lenin and Stalin's influence, of course.
But how did Marx start the ball rolling? If capitalism hadn't exploited workers
Marx would never have arisen, followed by Lenin's one-party system,
Followed by Stalinism's mystique and dream of "world liberation."
Capitalism's flaws are at the bottom of it all, responsible for Nuclear War.

Marx's outlook (sometimes described as embittered) may have had its roots in childhood. He was of a Jewish family but his father decided to convert to Lutheranism because he thought it would help his business custom in German society (where there was an element of anti-Semitism). He was probably left with a picture of business as opportunistic and amoral, conditions in industrial towns confirmed the prejudice.
Many workplace and other reforms were only partly the result of fairminded philanthropy. Many practices like child labour got abolished when there was a growing consensus that they were inefficient to business and the employer that carried on using them would be seen as an unfair competitor. Many legislators in Victorian England were industrial businessmen or members of their families. Some were influenced by evangelical Christianity and were products of religious revivals that begin in the 18th century, and were quite open to concerns raised by their fellow believers.
Ironically Marx's writings took hold in Russia before the Revolution through one chink in the Tsarist armour. The Tsarist governments had a bureaucratic censorship system during the 19th century, but for some unknown reason (corruption, lack of rigour, or fault in criteria?) his Das Kapital never got onto the list of banned books - the censors involved passed it through! When revolutionary unrest started to show up, banning would have been too little and too late in such a vast and growingly divided nation.

Thanx so much for your input. Yes, I had heard about Marx's father's conversion. for the wrong reason. Thanks for mentioning the good capitalists who went into politics for humanitarian reasons. But what do you think of my calling pigs, cattle "workers" ? It's a stretch but it's in line with Orwell, LOL.
Yes, that's a good point, about Czarist censorship. It's so so so sad !! About Kerensky taking over, trying to bring in equal rights for women etc and then being STABBED in the back by a fellow socialist - but a gangster socialist. When Lenin called Kerensky a bousoise socialist, and therefor to be ignored, treated like dirt, Lenin was actually exposing himself, his gangster-side. Socialism without ME in charge is no good. That's what he was saying.
