Coffee Shop Girl
Smiling coffee shop girl bears brew
Emerges into cold dark night
Where I await her womanly presence
Like a pilgrim awaits visitation of Madonna
She ascends steps like a gymnast walking a bar
Holding cup, she flamenco hip struts
Eyes glazed like a priestess
In throes of Orphic mysteries
Dips down kissing close,
Places mug on table
Her lips sing “enjoy” and “goodnight”
Descends on winged feet
Beams back from door
“Goodnight” her parting melody
Her heady lilt
An aphrodisiac liquor
