Sail
she sat under
the shade of a large old
gnarled tree
its branches covered
in webs of spanish moss
she closed her eyes
breathing to still the torments
of her heart
letting them sail away
on distant puffy clouds
only allowing in the
sweet sounds of birds singing
and children laughing
the whisper of the moss
swirling in the breeze
which gently caressed her skin
the sound of water lapping
onto the shore of the bay,
in the distance
boats skimmed the surface,
she imagined filling their sails with the wind
of her breath
putting all her troubled thoughts
there, and watched them slip away
on the distant horizon
the shade of a large old
gnarled tree
its branches covered
in webs of spanish moss
she closed her eyes
breathing to still the torments
of her heart
letting them sail away
on distant puffy clouds
only allowing in the
sweet sounds of birds singing
and children laughing
the whisper of the moss
swirling in the breeze
which gently caressed her skin
the sound of water lapping
onto the shore of the bay,
in the distance
boats skimmed the surface,
she imagined filling their sails with the wind
of her breath
putting all her troubled thoughts
there, and watched them slip away
on the distant horizon
